2024 Lexus TX vs 2024 BMW X5

2024 Lexus TX vs 2024 BMW X5

The 2024 Lexus TX and the 2024 BMW X5 are both luxury SUVs that deliver advanced features. There are, however, several key differences that set them apart. Learn more before deciding which one to buy.

Trims

The 2024 Lexus TX is available in three trims: TX350, TX350 Premium, and TX350 Luxury. They all come standard with front-wheel drive and the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive. The 2024 BMW X5, meanwhile, comes in four trims — sDrive40i, xDrive40i, xDrive50e, and xDrive M60i — with all-wheel drive standard in all but the lowest trim.

Performance

The 2024 Lexus TX has a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces up to 275 horsepower, while the 2024 BMW X5 comes with one of three engines in it. There is a 375-horsepower turbocharged inline-six engine in the sDrive40i and xDrive40i trims, a 483-horsepower turbocharged inline-six engine with an electric motor in the plug-in hybrid xDrive50e trim, and a 523-horsepower twin-turbo V-8 engine in the xDrive M60i trim. Still, the 2024 Lexus TX weighs about 1,000 pounds less than the 2024 BMW X5, so what it lacks in power it makes up for in handling and maneuverability.

Technology

The 2024 BMW X5 has an optional 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but its standard 12.3-inch touchscreen is no match for the 2024 Lexus TX's standard 14.0-inch infotainment display. The 2024 TX also has a standard in-dash navigation system, a wireless charging pad for smartphones, and a customizable 12.3-inch digital gauge display that helps it top the 2024 X5 in the tech department and overall.

Both the 2024 Lexus TX and 2024 BMW X5 are capable and luxurious SUVs, but if performance and technology are at the top of your list, we recommend the 2024 Lexus TX.
